Room 2 Wish List
From time to time, there are supplies that would enhance our learning, but are not part of Hawthorne's supply budget. If you are interested in donating any of our wish list items, please use the contact form to let me know. Thank you!
Donors Choose
Our class has two projects up on Donors Choose with the hope of receiving donations. These projects are asking for phonics resources our students can use while in the listening center.

Ways to Help Us Grow
Volunteer Opportunities
Ongoing Class Support:
Volunteers are a HUGE help to our classroom. Parents are welcome to sign up to volunteer starting the week of September 30th (the 4th week of school). This allows us to set up our routines and transition students into their new classroom before more adults enter the routine.
Below is our class schedule. Please let me know if you can come in for any of these times and how often you'd be available. The times that are the most high-need are during reading and math tray time. If you'd like to sign up for a time, please use this Google doc.

Single Volunteer Opportunities:
Field Trips:
I will post upcoming field trips in this space. Chaperones are a huge help in making these experiences educational, safe and fun.
Special Classroom Events:
Throughout the year, we will have special celebrations and culminating events such as Pumpkin Day, the 100th Day of School, Kindergarten Graduation, etc. These events rely on family volunteers to be successful. I'll be sure to give plenty of notice for the dates of these events so that as many parents/grandparents as possible can join in the fun.
Friends of Hawthorne Events:
The school PTA, Friends of Hawthorne, often needs volunteers to help pull off its events. Volunteering for those events helps the students in room 2 AND all the rest of Hawthorne's students. For more info, go to www.friendsofhawthorne.org.

Material Preparation
For families who are not able to come in and work during the school day, but would still like to volunteer their time, I have take-home work bags available. These bags are filled with materials that need to be cut, stapled, glued, traced, etc. This is incredibly helpful, because it allows us to do more hands-on work in class. Please let me know if you'd be willing to help our class with preparing these materials.
